Answers to the most commonly asked questions about ILL.

How Will I Get Notified and Where Do I Pick Up ILLs?

You will receive an email message (from law-ill@georgetown.edu) notifying you when an ILL material arrives, or if there are any issues with your request. Please be sure to check your Spam Folder for messages from this ILL service.

Students

  • Copies or scans as PDF files will be delivered directly into your ILLiad account by an ILL library.
  • ILL books may be picked up at the Circulation Desk, 202-662-9131.
  • The Law Library does not ship your requested books to off-campus addresses.

Journals (requests submitted under the office account)

  • Copies or scans as PDF files will be delivered directly into the journal's ILLiad account by an ILL library.
  • ILL books will be delivered into your journal mailbox located behind the Office of Journal Administration reception desk (Williams 170).
  • The Law Library does not ship requested books to off-campus addresses.

Faculty

  • All ILL materials will be delivered to Library Research Services. That department will deliver electronic files to the faculty as email attachments and ILL books to the faculty's office or campus mail folder.
  • The Law Library does not ship requested books to off-campus addresses.

Staff

  • Copies or scans as PDF files will be delivered directly into the your ILLiad account by an ILL library.
  • ILL books may be picked up at the Circulation Desk, 202-662-9131.
  • The Law Library does not ship requested books to off-campus addresses.
  • Tip: Do not submit ILL requests for a professor under your own ILLiad account. If you need an item for a faculty, please email Library Research Services (lawlibraryresearch@georgetown.edu) with the citation, cc'ing the professor. The faculty will be provided with the requested citation when it is received. You must include the faculty in your correspondence to Library Research Services.
