Brief Overview

The steady migration of commerce to online platforms and the rapid growth of cloud-based services have fueled an unprecedented increase in the number of cross-border transactions involving parties and intermediaries in different jurisdictions. This section focuses on the legal challenges posed by these developments, as well as efforts to harmonize laws at the national, regional, and international levels to keep pace with technological innovations—most notably the EU’s Digital Single Market initiative.
