Listings of Law Reviews and Law Journals

The first step in publishing is to review a list of law reviews and law journals, which will help you decide where to submit your article. The following resources provide current listings of law reviews and law journals.

Current Index to Legal Periodicals (CILP) is a list of law journals, organized by subject specialization.  It is maintained by the the University of Washington School of Law’s Marian Gould Gallagher Law Library, and hosted by HeinOnline.

W&L Law Journal Rankings is a database with an interactive display that can be used to sort and rank journals by subject (ranking methodology described here).  It is maintained and hosted by the Washington and Lee University School of Law Library.

Wikipedia's List of law reviews in the United States organizes law reviews by topic, with links to each law review's article page; each article page contains a link to the journal's official website in addition to information about the journal.

Findlaw's Law Reviews: Information and Index is an alphabetical listing of academic legal journals, including notable United States and foreign law journals.  It was last updated in 2016.

Law Review Companions
