Selecting the Advanced Search option on the front page of the Law Library website will take you to a page where you can customize your search of the Law Library catalog (and even search the catalogs of other local academic libraries).
The box at the top, Search For, allows you to set the scope of your search to look for items in specific library collections.
To pull a book, search using Law Library Catalog first. If you do not find the book you are looking for, expand the search by changing the search scope to Georgetown Univ. + Local Academic Libraries.
Just below these options are the additional search fields. You can select a field (like title, author/creator, or subject) to focus your search on that specific field rather than performing a full-text search of everything available.
If you see the book you want at the Georgetown Law Library, click on it to open its catalog entry. This catalog entry has a Locate feature to pinpoint the book's location in the library.
Clicking on the Locate icon from a catalog record will take you to a map of the floor of the library where the book is located.
If you find the book, but it is located at a local academic library rather than the Georgetown Law Library, select the Request book from a Local Academic Library option.
If the book is not available at the Georgetown Law Library or at a local academic library, submit an Interlibrary Loan request to have it borrowed from another library.
