Nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to Replace Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

On September 26, 2020, President Trump nominated Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit Amy Coney Barrett to fill the seat previously held by Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation hearings began on October 12, 2020. On October 26, 2018, the Senate confirmed Amy Coney Barrett by a vote of 52 to 48. She was sworn in the same day.
