Nomination of Neil M. Gorsuch to Replace Associate Justice Antonin Scalia

On January 31, 2017, President Trump nominated Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit Neil M. Gorsuch to fill the seat previously held by Justice Scalia. Judge Gorsuch's confirmation hearings began on March 20, 2017. On April 7, 2017, the Senate confirmed Neil M. Gorsuch by a vote of 54-45 (1 not voting), and he was sworn in on Monday, April 10, 2017.
