Style Manuals

California Style Manual: A Handbook of Legal Style for California Courts and Lawyers 4th 2000 ed. This is California's version of the Blue Book. When practicing in California, its rules supersede the Bluebook's rules. This style manual was written by Edward W. Jessen, the Reporter of Decisions for the Supreme Court and Courts of Appeal.

This practitioner's guide written by Susan Heinrich-Wells is designed to help determine when and in what jurisdiction to apply the California Style Manual or Bluebook citation formats.
