Statutory Research Materials

Professor Abrams will be covering statute research in-class on August 31st. The following materials are offered for your reference and review. The video lectures for statutes cover the publication process, the difference between session laws and codes, finding aids for locating statutes in the code, and how to check whether a statute is current.

The longer Statutory Research Tutorial covers much of the same material but provides additional information about the structure of statutes and codes, resources for finding statutes online, and using print resources for statutory research,

Note: All videos housed on Georgetown servers (with a "stream.law.georgetown.edu" address) are closed-captioned and searchable.
